Membership Guidelines
For detailed membership requirements, talk to your CDM Member Teacher!
Brief overview of membership requirements:
Applicant must be between age 13-19.
Applicant must be a student of a Carolina Dance Masters, Inc. Member in good standing.
Applicant must have completed at least two years of dance training.
Pay annual dues
NEW members ONLY- Submit an essay titled "Why I Want to Be a CDM Junior Member" explaining why the applicant would like to become a Junior Member and what he/she would like to gain from membership.

Manual Study Sessions
Dancers expand their dance knowledge through games, history lessons, and teaching from CDM Member Teachers. The information gained from the manuals prepares interested students for future membership in CDM.

Fall Convention Banquet Performance
In October, Junior Members have the opportunity to learn choreography to be performpd at the CDM Fall Convention in November. Their piece is the opening entertainment during the Saturday evening banquet, and is a highlight of event!

"Junior Member Only" Special Guest Classes
Participants get to experience a variety of fascinating and exciting opportunities during their special classes during Fall Convention and Winter Workshop. Favorite past classes have included Broadway choreography straight from the show CATS w/ Mariah Reives, and show routines from Disney!

Drawings for DMA National Convention and S.H.I.P.
During the Winter Workshop, Junior Members may enter for a chance to win a scholarship for DMA’s National Convention tuition and/or DMA’s Student Honors Intensive Program (S.H.I.P.). May students have taken advantage of this amazing offer, with great memories to last a lifetime!

Junior Members receive a *discounted tuition at Fall Convention and Winter Workshop.

Junior Member Officers
The Junior Members have their own officer board to lead their peers in fundraising, hold collaborative meetings, discussing future ideas, and more. Yearly elections held during CDM Fall Convention determine the new President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Attending a CDM Grand Body meeting amongst the many dedicated members of this amazing organization gives them a glimpse into their future as a CDM Member Teacher and how this wonderful organization continues to move forward!
